Tuesday 20 December 2005 - Champions 2005 |
The League season ended in a bit of disappointment for the Greens. Although they won the League after beating The Parkfield 2-0 with goals from Dean Pugh and Mark Likeman, the much awaited game against arch rivals Is Your Sister Athletic was reduced to a pathetic 10 minute friendly, which ended in a 0-0 draw after the Beresford House Astro Turf was locked until 7.50 when the caretaker came to open it, therefore reducing the time allowed on the Astro Turf. Tuesday 06 December 2005 - Greens Snatch Victory |
Smugglers Inn were a few minutes away from a hard fought victory on Monday Night. Smith & Ouzman were trailing 2-1, with Neil Taylor putting the Greens in front. With 4 minutes left, the rescue mission was complete. A super strike from Likeman with 4 minutes to go put the Green level, then a close range effort from Pugh a minute later sealed victory for Greens. Cavendish Barcelona failed to show for their game. Depending on Football Mundial's decision as to what happens with that game could determine the importance of the final League night. Click Here, to read the Full Match Report. |

Tuesday 29 November 2005 - Stalemate |
Smith and Ouzman and Cavendish Barcelona failed to produce any goals in this top of the table clash. Smith and Ouzman will be the happier of the two teams, as Cavendish really needed the win to close the gap at the top if they are to have any chance of catching S&O. The Title could now be decided next week depending on results. Click Here, to read the Full Match Report. |

Saturday 12 November 2005 - Greens suffer Cup defeat |
Smith and Ouzman tasted defeat for the first time this season in the cup against a very strong Humphrey & Co side as they lost 2-0 in the Cup. Although the Greens are performing well in the League, against Division 1 opposition, they will surely have to improve their game and use the ball better if they get promoted at the end of the season. Apologies for the delay in updating the site. But I have been very busy, plus the ever-changing fixtures do not help when you're trying to keep track of every game. I was also waiting on the pictures of Monday's game, which I received from Adrian on Friday, but then I left them at work. So maybe they will be here by Tuesday. They are now 4 points clear of Is Your Sister Athletic, who moved up to second place after their 3-2 win over Smugglers Inn. Click Here, to read the Full Match Report. |

Tuesday 25 October 2005 - Big Match Gets Abandoned |
Smith & Ouzman's game this Monday came to an abrupt end when the referee abandoned it less than half way into the second half. Constant arguing between the Referee and Parkfield came to a head when the Referee picked up the ball and walked off the pitch. Although it was a very competitive game, it was far from dirty. There was not one foul in the whole game. The Greens have currently been awarded a 3-0 victory, although we have recorded the score at the time the game was abandoned, which was 4-1 to SOFC. The Greens begin the second round of match's next week when they take on MetalTech CST. Click Here, to read the Full Match Report. |
